DHS Students Receive Scholastic Art Awards

Ten Dryden High School students had their art work selected for the Annual New York/Pennsylvania Scholastic Art Awards. The Dryden High School Art Department recognized these students and their work at the Board of Education meeting on Jan. 19. The Scholastic Art Award Exhibition will be displayed at the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira from Feb. 2 until March 6. Congratulations to all!

"Pages Through the Ages" Gifts Books to Students

Members of the Dryden High School Class of 2020 visited all kindergarten classrooms to read and hand out books to the children on Thursday, September 26. This is part of the graduation tradition that was started last year called “Pages Through the Ages.” It is an initiative sponsored by the the “Talktime Dryden” group to instill the love of reading in our youngest learners.

Dryden Receives Grant for UPK Program Expansion

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday, Dec. 5 that Dryden Central School District is among 32 districts in New York State receiving a grant to support the expansion of the district’s pre-kindergarten program. As an effort to promote early education, Dryden’s award of $114,624 will assist in the implementation of a new pre-kindergarten section at Dryden Elementary School.

DHS Selected to Represent NYS at National Christmas Tree Lighting

This year marks the 96th Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the President’s Park in Washington, D.C. and Dryden High School’s decorated ornaments will be on display at the celebration. The Commissioner of the New York State Department of Education selected Dryden High School’s art department to create 24 ornaments to be hung at the ceremony on a Christmas tree representing New York State.
