"Pages Through the Ages" Gifts Books to Students

Members of the Dryden High School Class of 2020 visited all kindergarten classrooms to read and hand out books to the children on Thursday, September 26. This is part of the graduation tradition that was started last year called “Pages Through the Ages.” It is an initiative sponsored by the the “Talktime Dryden” group to instill the love of reading in our youngest learners.

DHS Introduces Groundbreaking New Health Unit

This spring, Dryden High School incorporated a new unit into the health class curriculum. Believed to be the first research-based high school health unit in the country to address child brain development, this lesson teaches students the importance of reading aloud to young children to promote early literacy skills and language development.

Dryden Receives Grant for UPK Program Expansion

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday, Dec. 5 that Dryden Central School District is among 32 districts in New York State receiving a grant to support the expansion of the district’s pre-kindergarten program. As an effort to promote early education, Dryden’s award of $114,624 will assist in the implementation of a new pre-kindergarten section at Dryden Elementary School.

DHS Selected to Represent NYS at National Christmas Tree Lighting
11/02/2018
This year marks the 96th Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the President’s Park in Washington, D.C. and Dryden High School’s decorated ornaments will be on display at the celebration. The Commissioner of the New York State Department of Education selected Dryden High School’s art department to create 24 ornaments to be hung at the ceremony on a Christmas tree representing New York State.
