Driver 

Position Overview:

This position will serve to fill various civil service non-competitive bus driver runs that may become available throughout the school year such as due to resignations, leaves, and route changes. Runs that may become available throughout the school year will be filled per the transportation bidding notice and process posted at the transportation facility. This posting will also serve to fill any bus driver run vacancies that may occur due to internal movement as a result of this posting.

School Bus Attendant 

Position Overview:
This posting will serve to fill various civil service non-competitive school bus attendant runs that may become available in the 2018-19 school year such as due to resignations, leaves, and route changes. Runs that may become available throughout the school year will be filled per the transportation bidding notice and process posted at the transportation facility. The assignment will be riding in a school vehicle supervising assigned students. An employee filling this position is responsible for assisting the school bus driver in the safe transportation of student(s) assigned. The work is performed under the general supervision of the assigned driver with overall supervision by the transportation supervisor. The SBA will follow specific duties/expectations outlined in the assigned student(s) IEP as well as other duties/expectations as required. If the incumbent is serving student(S) with a disabling condition, the employee must successfully complete the NYSED mandated raining and testing before the candidate can assume this position. This posting will also serve to fill any school bus attendant vacancies that may occur due to internal movement as a result of this posting.
