5/11/19 Dryden Varsity Baseball vs Chenango Valley

"The Dryden Lions took on Chenango Valley in a Section 4 crossover contest on Saturday. Dryden took the W in a 4-1 final. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Chenango Valley tied things up at one. Kraack grounded out, scoring one run. The Lions pulled away for good with one run in the fifth inning. In the fifth Trey Tyler grounded into an error by the third baseman which plated across a score. Sean Peck led the Lions on the mound with a victory. He allowed only two hits and one run in a seven complete innings, striking out five and walking only one. Forbidissu took the loss for Chenango Valley. He went seven innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out seven and walking one. Troy Sornberger, Cody Senecal, Adam Buttaccio, Dylan Bell and Jacob Babcock each collected a hit to lead the Lion's offensive attack."

"Homer got things started in the first inning when Hage singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. Homer pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Rolfe doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Hage singled on the first pitch of the at ba, scoring one run, Gravel drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lyman drew a walk scoring one run. Strangeway earned the win for Homer. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six. Gravel threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Adam Buttaccio took the loss for Dryden. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out six. Harold Lobdell, Taron Lyon, Cody Senecal and Sean Peck each managed one hit to lead the Dryden Lions. Hage went 3 for 4 at the plate to lead Homer in hits. Homer stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Hage led the way with three."

"Sean Peck was brilliant on the mound on Saturday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead the Dryden Lions past Tully by a score of 11-0. Dryden fired up the offense in the first inning, when Adam Buttaccio singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. The Lions scored five runs in the fourth inning. Dryden's big inning was led by a triple by Trey Tyler, a single by Brandon Mailler and a groundout by Peck. Peck pitched the Lions to victory. He lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out 14 and walking zero. Buttaccio led the Lions with two hits in two at bats. The Lions didn't commit a single error in the field. Cody Senecal had 14 chances behind the plate which led the team."

"An early lead helped the Dryden Lions defeat Newark Valley 11-6 on Thursday. Dryden scored on a double by Zach Rochford, a walk by Sam Dow, a walk by Adam Buttaccio, and a single by Trey Tyler in the second inning. The base paths were crowded in this high scoring game. The Lions collected seven hits and Newark Valley had seven. The Lions pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Rochford doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Dow drew a walk, scoring one run, Buttaccio drew a walk, scoring one run and Tyler singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. Newark Valley scored three runs in the seventh inning. Newark Valley scored its runs on a single by Riley Malone. Sean Peck toed the rubber for Dryden. He went six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out seven. Kyle Coffin led things off on the pitcher's mound for Newark Valley. He lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and six runs while striking out three. Evan Powell threw four and two-thirds innings in relief. The Lions tallied seven hits. Brandon Mailler and Tyler all had multiple hits for Dryden. Tyler and Mailler each managed two hits to lead the lions. Mikey Wandell led Newark Valley with two hits in three at bats."

"The Dryden Lions took the lead late and defeated Odessa-Montour/Watkins Glen by a score of 9-7 on a IAC divisional game on Wednesday. The game was tied at five with Dryden batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run for the Lions. Both teams were aggressive at the plate, with Dryden collecting ten hits and Odessa-Montour/Watkins Glen hitting five in a class B high scoring affair. I the first inning, Odessa-Montour/Watkins Glen got their offense started when an error scored one run. Dryden evened things up at five in the bottom of the fourth inning. Odessa-Montour/Watkins Glen scored three runs in the fourth inning. Trey Tyler was the winning pitcher for the Lions. He went five and 1/3 allowing seven runs on five hits, striking out six and walking only one. Harold Lobdell came in to get the save by pitching one and 2/3 innings out of the bullpen. Voorheis took the loss for Odessa-Montour/Watkins Glen. He lasted six innings, allowing ten hits and nine runs while striking out five and walking zero. The Dryden Lions scattered ten hits in the game. Brandon Mailler, Tyler, Jacob Babcock and Adam Buttaccio each racked up multiple hits for the Lions in a great team win and first of the 2019 season."
