Lacrosse - Boys

Garet Marsh
CHAMPIONSHIPS
Division: 2017

5/21/21
The Boys Modified Lacrosse team improved to 2-1 with an upset victory over Horseheads yesterday at Volante Field. Standout performances by Luke Eshelman(3goals), Brendan Williams(1goal), and Peter Nydam(1goal) on Offense, and a physical, controlling defense set by Ethan Gibbs and Aidan Davis, proved too much for the visiting team. Congratulations boys on a great team win!!! The team visits Ithaca on Monday. Good Luck!!!

5/13/21

Congratulations to the Boys Modified Lacrosse team, who dominated Watkins Glen 14-2 on Watkins home field for the teams first win. The Lions are 1-1 on the season now, after a standout effort from the entire team. Luke Eschelman lead all scorers with 4 goals, Brendan Williams had 3, and Finn O'Brien had 2, while Goalie Hunter Covington had 7 saves behind a stingy Defense that didn't allow a goal until midway through the 4th quarter.

The story of the night was the play of the reserves though, who saw a lot of playing time and made it count. Suansian Songput, Josiah Carpenter, Keanin Annonson, Wyatt Curtiss, Liam Riggs, and Sawyer Dickinson made significant contributions on the offensive end, while Songput, Curtiss, Dickinson, Carpenter and Brady Wood all had their first career scholastic goals for the Lions.

5/7/21

The Dryden Lions defeated the Oneonta Yellowjackets, 5-1, Friday night at Dryden High in a lacrosse game that tested the Lions’ patience and composure throughout.

Noble Cator-Szymanski led the Lions with two goals and eight ground balls in the best all-around performance of the night. Cator-Szymanski scored one goal each with his short stick and his long stick, the latter coming in transition off a ground ball that he ran straight to the net with two minutes left in the fourth quarter.
