Cops, Kids, & Toys

Cops, Kids, & Toys
Posted on 11/16/2020
Holiday time is quickly approaching and questions arise regarding plans for holiday parties and gift giving. For the past 19 years, many of our fourth graders have been participating in a program called Cops, Kids, and Toys instead of exchanging gifts in our classrooms.  Cops, Kids, and Toys is a program that began in the early 1980’s to help families throughout Tompkins County who were unable to provide holiday gifts for their children.

The fourth grade team will be collecting donations of unwrapped new toys or money thru Monday, November 30th.  Toys may be for any age (but there is always a shortage for older kids) and should be brought to the collection boxes located in your child’s homeroom.  If you’d like to make a monetary donation, checks payable to Cops, Kids, and Toys or cash may be sent in.

Additionally, if your family is in need of receiving holiday toys, you need to sign up by filling out an application at www.copskidsandtoys.org by November 22nd.

We want you to take care of your own families above everything else and we realize we are living in challenging times. If you are interested and able to donate, we greatly appreciate your support with this holiday project as our donations support numerous families in our own school district. Please contact your child’s homeroom teacher if you have any questions.

Have a safe and happy holiday season!
