Welcome to the K-5 Dryden Mentor Program Website!

In Order to Have a High Energy, Successful First Year, Don't forget to Take Care of Yourself!

Here are some tips found in the recent issue of NEAToday:

*Take an energy inventory. How do you feel inside and out?
*Beat Burnout. Call your mentor for help, develop your organizational skills, lean on others to help with the work load....practicum students, parent volunteers, and other team teachers.

*Rest Easy. An adult needs 7-9 hours of sleep a night. Follow these steps: Go to bed and get up at a regular time, have a wind-down routine, rid the TV from the bedroom, and make sure you truly have a comfortable mattress and pillow.

*Eat for Energy.  Be sure to include balanced meals and healthy snacks; like unsalted nuts, yogurt, cheese sticks, or fruit. Refuel every three hours or so.

*Exercise and energize. If you can't clear 30 - 60 minutes in a day, do some quick stretches or cardio exercise for 10 minutes. Get the kids in your class out of their chairs, play some fast moving music, warm up with 20 "Jumping Jacks", and then DANCE!
