Dear Parents/Guardians:
I would like to remind you of the upcoming New York State Assessment exams for grades six through eight. All students will be tested in the morning on the dates listed below. It is very important that your children be in attendance on these days, if possible. There is a short opportunity for a make-up test.

Science Performance Test Grade 8 ONLY Wednesday, May 23, 2012 - Friday, June 1, 2012
(Grade 8 students are assigned a certain
time throughout the school day for this test.)
Science Written Test Grade 8 ONLY Monday, June 4, 2012
I recommend that parents/guardians make sure their children get plenty of sleep before the exams, and that each student eat breakfast before arriving. Encourage your student to give his or her best effort, but there is no need for anyone to feel overly stressed about the exams. The State Assessment Exams are used to chart your child’s progress throughout the schooling process.
