Welcome to the Dryden Middle School website.
A team of administrators, teachers, coaches, and club advisors/directors have worked together to create an extra-curricular code of conduct. Please click this link to review the proposed extra-curricular code of conduct. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please email Ms. Abigail Adams at aadams1@dryden.k12.ny.us Thank you. |
On April 22, 2013, at the recommendation of Superintendent Sandy Sherwood, the Board of Education approved the following two changes to this year's calendar:
1) The Board approved extending the Memorial Day holiday weekend by closing school on Friday, May 24th as we had an unused emergency closing day.
2) The Board also approved making Tuesday, June 18th and Wednesday, June 19th as half-days (with lunch served) for all K-5 students. This is in alignment with what we have done in past years. Please note that Thursday, June 20th is already designated as half-day for K-5 (with no lunch served). |
May, 2013
The month of April finished with a series of state assessments in both ELA and Math. As a collective staff, we were extremely proud of how our students handled themselves during these assessments. They approached the assessments with focus, determination and great effort. Our message was clear: they are an opportunity to show how much you have grown and learned over the course of the school year. With the assessments in the rearview mirror we move on and get back to business as usual at Dryden Middle School.
Our spring sports teams are now in full swing. It’s very special to see the hustle and bustle on any given afternoon of our student athletes grabbing their lacrosse sticks, gloves, lacing up their cleats and sneakers, and heading out to their respective practices. We are all LIONS and it is inspiring to see the excitement and enthusiasm in the classroom carry over to athletics and fine arts. The majority of our students are involved with either athletics or fine arts, and many of them are able to manage being involved in both. Being involved and connected is a big part of being a well-rounded individual and an important piece of being successful.
May and June are going to fly by with a wide variety of concerts, games, and other end of the year activities. Here is a quick listing of some important upcoming events at Dryden Middle School:
- May 3rd End of Marking Period 5
- May 8th ½ Day for All Students (lunch will be served)
- May 9th MS Instrumental Spring Concert
- May 21st District BUDGET VOTE
- May 22nd- May 23rd NYSED Science Performance Test
- May 27th 7-12 Band Performance in Dryden Parade
- May 30th MS Academic Awards Night
Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff. As always, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Enjoy this terrific weather!
