MEALS:

The nutrition of district students is an important factor in their educational progress.  The Dryden Central School District participates in the federally funded school breakfast and lunch program that provides free and reduced price food services to qualified district students.  An application form is included in the back of this handbook and is also sent to each home in the District Bulletin.  You may also request one by calling the school secretary or the Food Service Manager (844-8694, prompt #5).

Please Note:  Although you may qualify, you are not eligible for free/reduced lunch prices until an application has been filed each year.  If the form is not returned, (even though you have previously been determined eligible) your child will be placed on a full charge basis until the application has been approved.

Cassavant School offers daily breakfast and lunch.  Breakfast is served from 8:40-8:50 a.m.  Student food prices are as follows:
        Breakfast: -$1.10
        Lunch - $2.10
        Milk (1% chocolate/1% white or skim), Juice - $.50
        Ice Cream -$ .75

Parents are encouraged to pay for lunch and breakfast in advance.  Money is credited to the child’s personal debit card.  The money will remain on the card until used.  If you send money in for milk/juice for snack or lunch please designate the amount for each.  Please note that ice cream money cannot be put on the debit card.

Please place money in an envelope marked clearly with student name, teacher name, amount, and where the amount should be credited.  Some parents like to send in a check for larger sums.  This is acceptable if it is more convenient.  For example, Susie might bring in check for $20.00 in her envelope.  In this case the entire amount would go on her debit card.  ALL MONEY FOR THE WEEK SHOULD COME IN ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK!
