BUS TRANSPORTATION:
There is great concern for safety on the school bus. We are asking for your support by discussing this with your child. It is the philosophy of the Dryden Central School District to provide students with the safest possible transportation as outlined in SECTION 3635 of the New York State Education Law. Teachers have outlined rules of conduct to promote safety and respect for all passengers. Students who cannot accept this responsibility and who violate the rules and regulations will be required to accept the loss of privilege of riding the bus. Disciplinary action will be taken to let students know the seriousness of this matter. Please review with your child the following rules for student conduct on the bus:
1. The bus driver is in charge of the bus. The driver’s instructions are to be obeyed promptly by all
passengers.
2. Upon boarding the bus, students will select a seat and remain seated for the duration of the trip.
Drivers may at any time assign seats when deemed necessary.
3. Students shall not bring objects on the bus which are potentially dangerous or distracting to other
students or the driver.
4. Student actions which have the effect of distracting the driver or otherwise interfering with the driver’s
ability to operate the vehicle in a safe manner, are prohibited.
5. Bus Safety drills are performed throughout the year to review rules and safety issues with each student.
